Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy technicians work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and perform many pharmacy-related functions. They refer any questions regarding prescriptions, drug information, or health matters to a pharmacist. Pharmacy techs work in a wide variety of practice settings, including community pharmacies, hospitals, the military, in-home health care settings, long term care facilities, mail service pharmacies, managed health care organizations, and educational programs

 

                                The Pharmacy Technician is offered both online and onsite 

             THE PROGRAM FEE IS $ 999.00 Plus $35.00 registration fee for on campus students.All books and Supplies are included in this fee.

                               

For Florida students , Hurry! After December 31 2010 You must take 1500 hours and licensing requirements are for school programs of almost a year, unless you attended a program prior to December 31 2010.

                         Program information

 

Pharmacy Technician Program

This comprehensive 50 hour course will prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam.  Technicians work in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community pharmacies and other health care settings – working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.  Course content includes medical terminology specific to the pharmacy, reading and interpreting prescriptions and defining drugs by generic and brand names.  Students will learn dosage calculations, I.V. flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control and billing and reimbursement.
